Euro-Global Conference on Food Science and Technology (FAT 2026)

In September 2026, I had the pleasure and honor of participating, alongside my colleague Dr. Beatrice Proietti, as a speaker at the 8th edition of the Euro-Global Conference on Food Science and Technology (FAT 2026), one of the world’s most important scientific events dedicated to the future and sustainability of food systems (“Safe, Smart & Sustainable Food Systems”).

The event took place in Rome from September 14 to 16, 2026, at the NH Roma Villa Carpegna Hotel. Over the course of these days, we presented the contributions and vision of our project, Research Inside Food and People.
My presentation was titled “From Roots to Reality: Food Communication Between Science, Identity, and Misinformation in the Digital Era.”

On this occasion, I addressed a topic that is very close to my heart and of great current relevance: how food communication has evolved in the digital age and what impact misinformation and fake news have on consumers’ daily choices and on the cultural identity linked to food.

It was an important opportunity to engage with scientists, technologists, and researchers from around the world to chart a course together based on scientific rigor and transparent communication.
